A power of attorney is a document whereby one or more persons authorize, empower and constitute another person to act, do or perform any act or acts generally in his or their place. The person who gives his authority may be called the “Principal” and the person to whom such authority is given is called the “Attorney”. The power is given by an instrument in writing which is called the deed of power or attorney.
The power of attorney may be divided into general and special powers of attorney. The special power of attorney is for some specific act while the general power of attorney is for some and many acts, things and deeds generally described in the instruments. A power of attorney may be revoked at any time by the “Principal”.
